As I’ve thought about the right ways to describe Show Runner, I’ve come to realize that maybe my thinking has been a bit too narrow. The use case for Show Runner is that someone could use it to create a Puppet Slam, anthology series pulling from different creators, or talent show, but it really is more than that. Another way to view Show Runner is that it is a bit like a micro-streaming site.
It’s closest comparison really is Netflix, because you are organizing videos into episodes and shows, and your audience is watching the programming on demand. I’ve also thought about how it is similar to podcasting on Spotify.
So, I may have accidentally created a video curation and vodcasting service. This goes beyond just putting on a puppetry slam. And, I have a lot of additional ideas and features that I’d like to add to it which would expand its capabilities. This might be why I’ve been so excited to share this new tool.
